Guess what, all my fellow gardeners in Leon County! I just found a sweet deal that you’re going to love. Our very own LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System has a Seed Library Program, and it’s your chance to score some free seeds! Who doesn’t love free food you grow yourself?
Starting this Saturday, August 2nd, you can visit any library branch and check out up to five seed packets a month with your library card. And get this: you don’t even need to return them! You get to keep them for good. Even if you don’t have a library card, you can still get up to three packets a month. It’s a fantastic, totally free way to get your garden growing this fall.
Right now, they have a whole list of awesome fall varieties. Look at all the stuff you can get for free, just for showing up:
- Black Tuscan Lacinato Kale
- Bronze Mignonette Lettuce
- Fino Fennel
- Halloween Mix Radish
- Kuroda Long Carrot
- Magenta Sunset Swiss Chard
- Mizuna Red Streaks Mustard Green
- Parisian Carrot
- Ruby Queen Beet
- Spring Rapini Broccoli Raab
- Triple Moss Curled Parsley
So grab your library card (or just yourself!) and get ready to grow your garden the free way!
