4th of July Fireworks in Tallahassee

The 4th of July is a great time to get out and see the city. Not only are there fantastic fireworks shows, Tallahassee restaurants are offering specials that day for you and your family or friends to enjoy. You can bring your own food, but there’s also plenty of places where you can eat right on the holiday with no fuss.

Celebrate America at Tom Brown Park

  • When:  July 4th  7:00 PM – Fireworks at 10 PM

Let your American spirit be moved this Fourth of July with the City of Tallahassee’s Celebrate America event. Taking place at Tom Brown Park on Sunday, July 4, from 7-10 p.m., you and your family can enjoy live music and a spectacular, patriotic fireworks display.

Taking the stage from 7:15-8:30 p.m. will be the Billy Rigsby Band. There will be a short interlude while the stage is reset, and for the remainder of the event, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra will charm the crowd.

As a prelude to the dazzling firework display, sponsored by the City’s Utilities, TSO will play the National Anthem at 9:45 p.m. and then accompany the fireworks, finishing with the 1812 Overture during the grand finale.

There will be food truck and activities for children at the event. Attendees are also welcome to pack a picnic. Beer will be available for sale to those 21 and older with a valid ID.

Parking will be available within the park. Handicap parking has been moved closer this year, so check with a parking attendant upon arrival for assistance. Shuttle bus service will not be offered this year.

Other Fun Things to Do For the 4th:

Tallahassee Museum of History

This museum will be open from 10a – 4p daily but you’ll need $3 donation to enter (kids under 5 are free though). From 11a – 3p there will be craft activities available for children as well as staff on hand to educate. The museum’s restaurant ‘The Back 40’ will offer a holiday themed buffet from 12p – 2:30p and 4p – 8:30p for just $24 per adult and $13 per child with various sides.

The Melting Pot

A wonderful restaurant known for its fondue (including a scrumptious chocolate variety) will be open from 5p – 10p on the 4th. They only require a $15+ purchase per person to come in and enjoy the special day however it’s not stated if alcohol will be served or if patrons must purchase a full entree.
